May I suggest another sweet potato recipe which you can add to you repertoire.

Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Honey

Ingredients
1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1? chunks
1 tablespoon honey
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Peel and cut into cubes your sweet potatoes. Bring lightly salted water
to a boil in a steamer with a tight fitting lid. Place peeled and cubed
sweet potatoes in steamer basket tightly cover and cook until tender.
If you don’t have a steamer don’t worry. In a sauce pan bring slightly
salted water to boil on low or medium heat, place cubed sweet potato
into water ensuring the potatoes are covered by the water. Allow to
simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender.
Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the saucepan. Add butter to bottom of pan and stir until melted. Using a potato masher, mash the sweet potatoes with the butter, adding salt and pepper, to taste. Add honey to sweeten, stirring thoroughly.
The honey should be barely perceptible just enough to enhance the natural sweetness of the potatoes.
